    3. Hi Hillsborough Co. researchers, I have received several emails from folks wanting to know about PRATT Cemetery in Mason, NH. I have looked through the History of Mason and found very little about the surname PRATT. This is what I was able to find: John Pratt arrived in Mason about 1789. He died 27 Jan 1832 at the age of 77y. [born ca 1755] His wife, Sarah, died in April 1834, age 86. [b: ca 1748] The lake near by was [and still is] called Pratt Pond. Pratt Cemetery was originally a family plot, yet no records of Pratt burials seem to exist. It grew into a neighborhood burying ground. In 1912 it was enlarged and in 1917 an additional piece of land was added to it. [ Mason Bicentennial 1768-1968, edited by Elizabeth Orton Jones, pg 172] I do not find any PRATT families in any of the Family Registers. Timothy PRATT of Malden married Ruhamah RUSSELL 30 July 1797 in Mason Oliver H. PRATT married Maria HILL 4 June 1829 in Mason Seems as though the Mason PRATTs were pretty quiet folk as I found very little about them. A check of the Mason federal censuses might be next in order for anyone researching this name. In checking the History of Fitzwilliam, NH I found many PRATT families. I also found PRATT families in Townsend, MA Nothing found in History of Brookline, NH. Hope this helps someone! Happy Holidays! Rhett R.
