Hi all, I have a copy of the book - History of the Town of Hollis, NH by Samuel T. Worcester, printed 1879. I will be glad to do lookups in the "Family Registers from 1739 to 1800, copied mainly from the Hollis Record". I have a problem with one page of "Cs" that did not copy properly, need to get back and recopy but haven't done it yet but the rest is fine. There is no index so lookups in the rest of the book would be difficult and time consuming but might be sweet talked into it. :) Happy hunting. Dave Farmer, I am interested to see if we might have Farmers in common. I have a Dorcas Farmer, b. 1762 (possibly in Bedford, NH), who married Ephraim Stevens. Finding her family has been a great frustration, but I recently learned they had a son named Joseph Farmer Stevens. I believe this may be in honor of the Joseph who is the son of Thomas and Sarah (Hunt) Farmer that you've identified. They died in Hollis, which is near where Ephraim and Dorcas lived. Do you know more about Joseph1 and Joseph2? I've read someplace where Joseph1 may in fact be Joseph2, that they appear separate being the result of a clerical error. Can you tell me anything more about them? I assume you know the line up from Thomas. If not, let me know, and I'll share what I have with you. Am trying to verify birth of great great grandfather, John Dane Holt, son of Ezra Holt, Jr. & Dolly B. Gould. From family records, he was born Jan.25, 1843 or 1844 in Amherst or Milford, NH. I have written to Vital Records in Concord & Town Clerks in both of the towns - all to no avail. I also have the same situation with his death which occurred either July or August 28, 1872 in Milford. His wife was Emily Frances Lane (known as Fanny) born in Wilton on August 5, 1848 and died either July or August 8, 1873. Fanny was the daughter of William Lane & Emily Wilson. She may have died in Boston which I have not pursued. I would be more than pleased to exchange information on these lines. Lucille Cameron Hope, RI

I'm trying to determine the parents of Dorcas Farmer, b. circa 1762 in Bedford. She married Ephraim Stevens in Deeryfield in 1781, and died in Manchester in 1844. I suspect her father was Joseph Farmer because one of her children was named Joseph Farmer Stevens. I believe Joseph Farmer was the son of Thomas Farmer. Can anyone provide information about Dorcas, about the Farmer family in Bedford, or the Farmer family in Hillsborough County from 1750-1790? I would like to compare notes with anyone rsearching the Farmers in NH. Thanks. Gordon Kirkemo kirkemo@olywa.net
