    1. CLARK, PATTERSON
    2. Gail Brown
    3. Daniel M. CLARK married Betsey Boyd PATTERSON, 5 Mar 1799, New Boston, Hillsborough Co., NH. His parents were Samuel CLARK and Sarah HOLMES, from Londonderry, NH. His grandparents were Robert CLARK and Letitia COCHRAN, who came from North Ireland, some time between 1818 and 1725. Daniel had a brother named Moses who lived near him, and 2 uncles, William and Ninian Clark. Daniel and Betsey's children, all born in New Boston between 1800 and 1812, were Betsy, Bradford, David, Jane, Sarah, William, Robert Patterson, and Nancy Stinson. Each of these children moved away and married elsewhere - probably to Buffalo/Welland Co., Ontario, Canada area first. There are Welland Co. marriages for Nancy and Hugh Watt, 1829, Sarah and Tyler Beach, 1833, and William and Susan Woolever, 1834. Betsy and h. Timothy Hoyt eventually are found in Waterloo, Canada; Bradford and w. Isabel in Buffalo; David and w. Rebecca in Huntington, IN; Jane and h. Israel Brown in Joliet, IL; Sarah and h. Tyler Beach in East Otto, NY; William and w. Susan in Buffalo, NY; Robert Patterson and w. Violett Clark in Belleville, MI; and Nancy and h. Hugh Watt in Vicksburg, MS. My questions - Who were Betsey's parents? What happened to Daniel and Betsey? Why did all 8 children leave NH and when? What impact did the weather changes brought on by the eruption of Mt. Tambura, 1816, have on the area? Given the possibility that Daniel's family might have been Tory, what's the likelihood of anti-Tory feelings in the period following the War of 1812? I'd love to hear from anyone with ideas, suggestions, or guestimates about this family. Gail

They had four children born 1880, 1882, 1892, & 1894 the first one in St-Augustin and the last three in St.-Mary.[My line is another date and place.] Are St.-Augustin St.-Mary parishes? 1. WOODS & POWERS
    2. VEWhite
    3. Oliver WOODS, son of Benjamin and Bethiah (TAYLOR) WOODS, married his first cousin Mary POWERS, daughter of Jonathan and Rebecca (WOODS) POWERS on 5 Jan 1818 in Kirby VT. This family was originally from Dunstable MA area (which later became Dunstable NH and Nashua NH). Jonathan and Rebecca (WOODS) POWERS were living in Weathersfield, Windsor Co. VT in 1790 but had moved to Concord, Essex Co. VT by 1800. They stayed in Concord until at least 1810 but had moved to Kirby, Caledonia Co. VT by 1820. In 1830 they were in Lyndon, Caledonia Co. VT. They were in Lowell, Orleans Co. VT in 1840 when Jonathan died. His widow Rebecca moved back to Lyndon and died there in 1848. I am rather uncertain when Benjamin and Bethiah (TAYLOR) WOODS moved to VT. They were in Dunstable NH in 1796 and I think they were living in Lyndon, Caledonia Co. VT by 1800. And I think they were in Lowell, Orleans Co. VT by 1820. It appears that Benjamin and Bethiah were alive in 1840, living in Lowell. But I lose track of them after that. I would love to know the names of the POWERS and WOODS children born in Caledonia Co. VT. I think some of them must have remained there, married and had children of their own. Do I have any "cousins" out there in Caledonia Co. VT? I appreciate any help you can give. Vickie Elam White

    2. Hayden Computing Ideas
    3. Hello All, I am new to the list and desperately looking for the David Hayden family of 1850. The were in Hartland, ME for the 1830 and 1840 census and in Brookfield, MA for the 1855 State census. However, David was not with them in 1855 and I have been unable to locate any further record of him. Believe Hannah, the daughter of David and Betsy Hayden may have been married in Nashua, NH (before 1855) and so assume the family spent some time in the area before arriving in Massachusetts. Below is the 1855 MA State Census of Brookfield, MA showing this family. 216 277 Betsey Hayden 51 b. Maine Levina F. Hayden 20 b. Maine Uzzial H. Hayden 15 b. Maine Charles H. Hoisington 21 b. Vermont (laborer) Hannah R. Hoisington 17 b. Maine Emma F. Peabody 5 b. New Hampshire 346 421 Charles Hayden 15 b. Massachusetts Staying at William M. Moulton's Inn David's son Charles is my direct. He is in Brookfield, MA and have some records for him. I have never seen the Uzzial H. Hayden or Emma F. Peabody found with Betsey above in any other records with this family. Uzzial is Betsy's father's name so I am assuming this is a son of Betsey and David, though he is never mentioned in any other records I can find. Emma is just 5 years old and born in NH, she is a total mystery. Still with the unusual name of Uzzial I am hoping to learn more about him and hopefully solve the mystery of Emma Peabody and the fate of David as well. Would appreciate any information on any of these individual, as well as any Haydens which may have been in the area. Have no idea why they left their families in Maine and went to MA where as far as I can tell they knew no one. Many Thanks in Advance, Julie Hayden Hayden Computing Ideas North Brookfield, MA 01535 (508) 867-5258 hayden@tiac.net

    1. Milford, NH (Hennigan)
    2. Hello: My name is Karen Hennigan and I have been researching my Hennigan line for quite sometime now. Infact, two years ago I traveled back to Milford, NH to continue my search. It was a wonderful experience. I am still looking for information on PATRICK HENNIGAN who married JOHANNA BUCKLEY about 1820 in Ireland and one of their sons was DAVID HENNIGAN born in Cork Co 1822. He married ELIZABETH BROSNEHAN around 1860. They came to USA around 1860 and settled in Boston, eventually moving to New Hampshire. David lived in Lyndeboro, NH before moving to Milford, New Hampshire in 1874. I've searched Lyndeboro census up in Salt Lake, but copy was not readable. Would like to know if HENNIGAN was in Lyndeboro 1860. I also located a Johanna Buckley glass window at St. Patrick's Church in Milford, but I don't believe this to be the same person. I did find maps of the property that David Hennigan lived on. Other names in Milford are PHILBRICK and FRANCES M. COLE. Both are buried there and I visited the gravesites. Would also be interested in knowing what kind of work the HENNIGAN's might have done back in Milford. Also, what sort of job do you suppose David had when he lived in Lyndeboro? Many thanks. KH

    3. Would anyone know of the marriage between Timothy Farnsworth b.17 Sept 1812 and Fannie Louisa Tilton which took place7 Mar 1840 in Peterboro,NH. She was the ggg-grandaughter of the Narragansett Indian Chief whose tribe lived around Mt. Monadnock. There were 3 Timothy Farnsworths in Peterboro at that time. Another Timothy married Elizabeth Grandy ca.1840. This couple are listed as my ancestors but I've had my doubts as we know that there was an Indian woman in our history. I'm trying to find out the truth. Rmorin@snet.net

    3. Hi, Book - West Dunstalble, Monson & Hollis: An account of Some of the Early Settlers by C.S. Spaudling, 1915 $35.00. Was wondering if anyone has this book or has seen it. I can order it from Higginson Books but would like to find out more info before doing so. I would like to know if it has information about the PIERCE family in Hollis, NH. A reference to this book, that I saw, seem to imply it does Can anyone help? Thanks, Sue Gardner Leominster, MA

    3. Pat, You have made my day--Heck!-- My whole week! Your response was an unexpected surprise, and let me just say THANK YOU! I have been looking for the family of Susanna PERHAM for a very long time. I'd found a Perham book with William and Susanna (POWERS) PERHAM listed having a daughter named Susan, but could not connect her. My Susanna was married to John HARVEY in 1751, just as you have it listed below. I descend from John and Susanna through their son John, Jr. Through that book, I have information about the Perhams, but nothing on the Powers family. I will try to pursue them through resources at my library, but I would love to know your sources, and would love to get copies if possible. Do you have more on the Harveys? I know that John, Sr was the son of Captain John Harvey, who was the captain of a British Frigate and was killed fighting the Spanish off the coast of Cuba about 1743. Do you know his wife's name? I am interested in any information you have on the HARVEY family that might help me track them down. I believe that Captain Harvey brought the family to Newburyport, MA, and that they went north to NH after his death. Did they go directly to Derryfield, or was there an intermediate stop? I hope this makes us cousins, but you'll need to point out the connection for me. Again, thanks for responding to my query. I can only hope I might have a future opportunity to return the favor.
