    1. [NHHILLSB] POWERS Photographer- Lisbon NH
    2. I have in my possession photographs taken of Oliver and Mary (POWERS) WOODS. They were taken probably in the early 1850s. On the back of the photos are the words "Powers Studio, Lisbon N.H." Mary POWERS was b. 1796 in Weathersfield, Windsor Co. VT to Jonathan Jr. and Rebecca (WOODS) POWERS. Mary and her husband Oliver were first cousins and married in Kirby, Caledonia Co. VT, just across the river a ways from Lisbon NH. Their families were originally from Dunstable NH and migrated to VT after the Rev War. Does anyone know who ran the Lisbon NH studio? Was this family connected to Jonathan POWERS Jr. (son of Jonathan and Bridget POWERS of Dunstable NH)? Or was this just a coincidence? Vickie Elam White

I agree with Nancy that you would find a request to the records clerk of Nashua and sorrounding towns to be very fruitful. Also look for published histories of the specific towns in that area. Dunstable was a township that split into 4-5 individual towns. Keep on keeping on Colin B.

    1. DEAN, Rhoda 1783 Jaffrey, NH
    2. Hi White-Mountaineers, I am looking for the parents, siblings and other ancestors of Rhoda DEAN. She was born in 1783 in Jaffrey, NH. She married Benjamin FLANDERS in Hanover, NH in 11/1802 and they moved to his hometown, MT Holly, VT, about 1804 where she died there, 5/26/1867. The only possible lead I had was Thomas DEAN of NH but I can find no connection yet. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Happy Hunting! 3. Greetings, all. I am looking for the parents of a John SLEEPER, b 26 Oct 1786 (place uncertain), m 25 July 1809 at Francestown, New Hampshire, Lydia DODGE (b 16 Feb 1790). I have checked GENDEX and FamilySearch and find nothing. John's birthdate comes from the Dodge Genealogy, where he is described as a successful farmer in Francestown with 10 children. SLEEPER is a well-known name on the MA/NH border, and this John is certainly part of that family, but I haven't been able to link him up to the rest. Any info will be welcome. Many thanks. 1. [NHHILLSB] HALE - POWERS, 1780s
    2. Henry HALE m. Jerusha POWERS 1 Jan 1788 in Dunstable, Hillsborough Co. NH. She was born in 1763 to Jonathan and Bridget POWERS. Was this Henry the one who was christened in Newbury, Essex Co. MA 17 Jan 1762, son of John HALE? I have seen it written, although undocumented, that they moved to Corinth, Orange Co. VT. If the man who appears on the 1800 Corinth VT census is really this Henry HALE, then they had two sons born 1791-1800. He does seem to disappear from NH after the 1790 census. An undocumented source says that Henry and Jerusha had another son named Alden ca 1803 or 1804 in Corinth. This source also says that Henry died in 1816 in Corinth and Jerusha died there in 1815. I plan on checking probate records because someone would have been appointed guardian of the minor children. But in the meantime, can anyone help verify this info? I appreciate any help. 1. [NHHILLSB] CLEMONS (CLEMENTS?) - POWERS, 1750s
    2. David CLEMONS (CLEMENTS?) married Mary POWERS in Nottingham West NH (now Hudson NH) in 1753. They seem to have settled in Dracut MA, where David was born and his family lived. However, they must have moved elsewhere because there are no death records for them in Dracut. David was the son of Nathaniel and Elinor CLEMENTS of Dracut. He had a twin brother named Daniel. Does anyone know where they lived after leaving Dracut? I believe that Mary was born in 1734 to Jonathan and Elizabeth (KIDDER) POWERS, who were living in the Litchfield NH area at that time. One thing that supports this is that Mary's sister Abigail, who married Medad COMBS, had a daughter baptized in Nottingham West during this timeframe. But I'd love to be able to confirm Mary's identity with some hard data. I appreciate any help. Vickie Elam White
