    1. Re: [NHHILLSB] John Page/Paige of Weare NH
    2. HI, Sorry to bother you, but I saw the posting on Page/Paige. I have a Mary Page/Paige in my family but according to Quimby records she was from the Goffstown area. I have a Mary Jane Page/Paige married to a Jane Moody Quimby in Goffstown around 1821-22. What is confusing about the correct spelling of her surname is that one of her sons, Moses Paige Quimby, is noted as that in the 1850 census for Goffstown but in the Quimby book the middle name is given as Page. I was wondering if you have any information on the Page/Paige family in the Goffstown area? Mary Jane Paige/Page was my g-g-grandmother. Yours, Mary Beth Ortzman

    3. I wonder if you could check and see if there is a Persis/Percy FLINT in the FLINT genealogy that married a Jonathan GRIFFEN/GRIFFIN or DAVIS. Persis would have been born circa 1760-1772. They had a daughter Rhoda born 28 Nov 1790 in Chester,N.H. Rhoda died 12 June 1882 in Ayer's Village(Haverhill),MA Thank you for your time and trouble Brian C.Page

I have gone to the Reading, Andover and Salem Vital Records and found the same dates there. I found the other siblings of those mentioned, as well as the will of Thomas Flint (d. 1663) his widow Ann Southwick (d. 1668) which mentions ch. 3. I'm sorry, I should have been more specific when I offered to do look ups. The genealogy section includes only families that have had two generations that have voted and live in New Ipswich, not every family living there. I too have found the information on my families to be quite accurate. I have several lines there, and have generally found his data reliable when checked against Savage, Pope, Potter, NEHGR articles etc. The book "The History of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, 1735-1914" is available from Heritage Books at (ouch!) $52.50. 2. Lorraine Sears
    3. Hello List! I am new to this list and hope someone can lead me in the right direction. My g-g-grandmother, Elizabeth ROGERS was born 3-19-1817 in NH. She married Luther SAWTELLE on 11-10-1839. He was born in Boston. They had 5 children. I know the youngest 3 were born in Louisiana, including my grandmother who was born in Algiers, New Orleans. What little information I have tells me that her brother, Augustus, died at age 5 and is buried in LA. Her other three brothers all fought in the Civil War. William died at the Battle of Gettysburg, Luther died of pneumonia while on a mission and is buried in LA with his brother, and Albert survived the war but wasn't heard from after 1872. Their father, Luther, died at the battle of Lafourche Crossing in LA. What I have found while trying to research Civil War records is that there was an Augustus I. Sawtelle, b. BROOKLINE, NH who enlisted in the Civil War as a resident of Brookline on Sept. 15, 1862. He mustered in as a sergeant on Oct. 18, 1862 and died disabled on July 6, 1863 in Algiers, LA. I am wondering if he could be related to "my" Sawtelles. His age is listed as 41 but I don't know if he was 41 when he enlisted or when he died. Would anyone have any information on this family or about the town of Brookline? Thanks for any help. Lorraine
