I would like to thank those who were very kind to help me before when I requested information on families in Lyndeborough in the 1700s. You all helped me to fill in some gaps. Again, I'm looking for information on the Stiles family. I have a SARAH STILES who married Benjamin Dutton and had my direct ancestor Deidamia Dutton 29 Apr 1784 in Lyndeborough. I have no further information on this particular family except for Benjamin--but not the Stiles. And again, thanks to anyone who can help me out with this. Janice Connell El Paso, TX

Hello, I have been working with my grandfather, Stathis TOLIAS, of Greece, Canton, Lowell, and finally Canton, MA. Many people have helped me to learn more about him. His wife's name was Catherine MARATHAS. Her brothers, Visilios and James N., also lived in Lowell. I was looking at the Lowell site which lists some vitals during the early 1900's. One in particular was interesting. An Alexander MARATHAS died November 15, 1919 in Lowell, (MA), age 72. Is anyone able to get this obit for me? He is either the father of Catherine, Vasilios, James, etc., or is the brother of their father. I had heard that these children were the father of a Nicholas MARATHAS. That may be incorrect. This would clear this up! Thank you very much. John, Middleboro, MA (PS/I sent this list to Nashua too, as they may have come to Nashua as well)
Hello, Thank you for writing back. As far as his date goes, he came over in 1909, and when my father was about 3 (1925), his uncle was gone. He never met him. I would be glad to pay you to check for these dates. How much would you charge? Thank you. John

When my father, Charlie TOLIAS, was born in 1922 in Lowell, his uncle was apparently dead by then. Charlie's father, Stathis, told him that his brother had died in Nashua. Thus, he would have lived in Nashua between 1909 and 1922. Is anyone able to check the Nashua Directories for his name, Charles TOLIAS? His first name could have been spelled Kostas or Constantine (Greek). His surname could be other similar (though, rare) names ... TOALIAS, TOLLES, TOBIAS, etc. I hope to get his death cert. in Nashua, but hope to see his name in Nashua to see when he was living there. He did marry. We do not know the name of his wife, nor where they were married. I do not think they had any children. Finding his obit would be great as well. Any ideas? Thank you! These are my Moor's!!!! I just spent a weekend with my mother asking all kinds of questions about this part of the family, including elusive "Auntie Moor". I think I found her with a couple of other sisters. This Auntie Moor, I believe, was a granddaughter of your WILLIAM MOOR and MARTHA HOLMES. Her father was WILLIAM MOOR (5/20/1815- 10/30/1880) married MARTHA A. KENDALL (5/23/1814-1/15/1892). They married in August 1836. I also was able to borrow 3 different town history books of Goffstown, NH and Bedford, NH. These have notes and loose papers in them with family notes written in the early part of this century. I hope to get through them soon. Barbara Minnesota
