It is with broken hearts that the family of the late DOUGLAS PETER EDWARDS of Lord’s Cove, NL, announces his passing. Douglas passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family and best friend, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Friday, August 17, 2018, at the age of 72. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his son, Maurice (Denise), Brooklin, ON, daughters Cora-Lee (Paul), Brooklin, ON, Shirlene (Ray), Lawn, Stephanie (Jimmy), Goulds, and Sherry (Colin), Conception Bay South; 16 adoring grandchildren, Kayla (Gary), Melissa (Nick), Giselle, Brody, Riley, Noah, Kyle (Danah), Ireland, Preston, Grayson, Kathleen, Ethan, Ellen, Aselin, Jade and Drake; brothers George (Wanda), and Brud, sisters Shirley (Ray), Diane (Jim), Margie (Jody), Marl, Helen, (Reg), Sheena, special friend Alphonse Manning; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Douglas is predeceased by his loving wife Mary, his parents, Leonard and Cathy Edwards and his brother Dave. The Edwards Family will be accepting visitors at St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Lord’s Cove, on Saturday, August 18, beginning at 7:00 pm; Sunday, August 19, all day. The Funeral Mass will take place at on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lord’s Cove. A vigil will take place on Sunday, August 19 at 7:00 pm. In Douglas’ memory, flowers gratefully accepted.
