It is with great sadness that the family of the late IDA E. PARSONS of Grand Bank, NL announces her passing at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Tuesday July 3, 2018, at the age of 95. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons: Ches Parsons (Patricia) of Port Bickerton, Arthur Parsons (Debbie) of Montreal; daughters, Bessie Grandy (Roy) of Grand Bank, Mary Skinner (James) of Grand Bank, Emily Carroll (James) of St. Andrews; sister, Mary Skinner of Louisbourg; brother, Gordon Durnford (Sarah) of Halifax; sister-in-law, Minnie Durnford; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by husband, Robert Parsons; parents Arthur and Edith Durnford; grandson, Tanner Parsons; sisters, Mable Young and Janet Priddle; brothers, John Durnford, Reginald Durnford and William Durnford; brother-in-law, Melvin Skinner. The Parsons’ Family will be accepting visitors at Wisemans Funeral Home in Grand Bank on Thursday, July 5th from 10:00am to 12:00 noon , 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 6th, at 1:00pm from St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Grand Bank. Interment to follow at the St. Alban’s Anglican Cemetery in Grand Bank.
