The Cape Breton Post, August 19, 2013 Annie Mae Long Born In: Newfoundland Born: September 12th, 1915 Passed in: Point Aconi Passed on: August 18th, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Annie Mae on Aug. 18, 2013, at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Florence on Sept. 12, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Reardon) Dawe of Newfoundland. Mom enjoyed the little things in life, like going to the casino and scratching her lottery tickets. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann, Patsy (Albert), Frances (Edward); sons, William Thomas (Valerie), Robert (Brenda), James Elmer (Mary), David (Colleen), Joseph; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Marjorie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William, daughter, Willena, brothers, Peter, Ned and Mike, sister, Mary and two children in infancy. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in Annie Mae's memory may be made to a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home.
