The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, August 15, 2013 Edward John "Jack" Goodyear(September 27, 1934 - August 12, 2013) GOODYEAR, Edward John Christopher (Jack) – (78), passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 12, 2013 at Arborstone Enhanced Care, Purcell’s Cove Road, Halifax. He was a proud and active member for over 20 years of #349 ANAF Main St. Dartmouth. He was a sales representative for many years in flooring and contract sales and travelled all over the Atlantic provinces. John will be remembered for his great sense of humor, caring nature and his ability to strike up a conversation with everyone he met. Born in St. John’s, N.L. September 27, 1934, he was the son of the late Nathan and Emma (Grantor) Goodyear. In addition to Barbara (nee Lynk), he is survived by brother Harvey Goodyear ( Loretta ), St. John's Newfoundland ,daughters Michele (Gary) Nolan, Ingramport, N.S., Jennifer Tobin, Eastern Passage, N.S., sons Darren (Lori), Ottawa and Christopher (Bev), Lethbridge, Alberta; grandchildren, Tyler, Connor, Allison and Declan , several nieces and nephews and first wife Mary. Besides his parents he was pre-deceased by sisters, Nancy and Enid ( Stan Adelson ) and brother Jethro, infant triplet granddaughters, Denali, Madison and Sarah Goodyear, as well as special Aunt Priscilla. As per John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held in St. John’s, NL at a later date. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
