The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, August 7, 2013 DURDLE, Claudine, 64(March 24, 1949 - August 5, 2013), of Lower Sackville, passed away August 5, 2013 at the QE II , HSC , VG Site. Born in Bell Island Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Stella Durdle. Claudine worked for Canada Post for 30 plus years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of the “Stitch and Bitch” club and enjoyed knitting. She also enjoyed being “The Best Nanny in the World’ and loved to spoil her granddaughter. Claudine is survived by daughter Melyssa Williams; son, Mark Williams; sister, Kathleen (Mrs. Tom Hickey), Cambridge , Ont. ; brother, Arch Durdle, Bell Island , Newfoundland; granddaughter Willow Piercey; many nieces and nephews. Claudine was predeceased by sister , Phyllis (Mrs. Ron Etheridge) and a brother Reg Durdle. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday August 9th at 2 pm from the chapel of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive. A reception will follow in the funeral home lounge.
