The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, August 14, 2013 McCullough, Winifred Josephine 72, of Upper Tantallon formerly of Twillingate, NL, passed away on Monday August 12, 2013 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Twillingate, NL, she was the daughter of the late Baxter and Doris (Rideout) Rogers. Winifred was a military spouse and loved travelling all across Canada and Europe with her family. She was well known for her great sense of humour and fantastic memory, always remembering names and birthdays of each person she met. At her nursing home, she insisted on giving birthday cards and gifts for special occasions to friends and staff members. She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, sewing and knitting for her family and, of course, scratching lottery tickets and sharing the winnings with her family. Her sharp wit and loving smile will be deeply missed. Survived by her husband Basil P., Upper Tantallon, Daughter, Linda (Michael) Norman, Upper Tantallon; sisters, Doris Rogers; Betty (Bill) Hayter; Gloria Baker, all of St. Johns NL; Margaret (Gordie) Ross, Twillingate, NL; grandchildren, Tonya and Courtnee both of Upper Tantallon. Predeceased by her sisters, Rose and Emmaline. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday August 16, 2013 in William Black Memorial Cemetery, Glen Margaret. Rev. Richard Walsh officiating. Reception to follow at 11 a.m. in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Nova Scotia Diabetes Association.
