She was pre-deceased by her parents Robert and Alice Locke and sisters Priscilla Harpelle and Marie Gosse. She will be dearly missed by the Comeau and the Locke families and by her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Genevieve always provided a close familiar touch, a guiding piece of advice, and a sly sense of humour. She was a proud teacher who took pleasure in crafting young minds in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Ontario. She was a volunteer with many organizations and a member of the Catholic Women’s League in Weymouth, Nova Scotia. Genevieve lived a full adventurous life with her husband Pierre and her family. She will be dearly missed, not only for her love of family, but for her inspiration, guidance, and adventurous spirit. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Meteghan Funeral Home on Friday, August 23 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Knights of Columbus prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, August 24, at 11 a.m. at Sacré Coeur Church in Saulnierville, interment in the parish cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Yarmouth General Hospital for their dedicated, considerate and compassionate care. We kindly request family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or Sacré Coeur Parish would be what Genevieve would have wanted.
