The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, July 30, 2013 John Savoury 74(February 16, 1939 - July 26, 2013) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and friend. John passed away peacefully with family by his side at the VG Hospital on July 26, 2013. Born in Newfoundland, he was the son of the late William and Georgina (Brady) Savoury. John was a Fisherman and Drywaller. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to Johnny Cash, fishing with Jason and spending time with family and his good friend Sylvia Ayles. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons Jason (Leslee) of Lower Sackville, and John of Newfoundland; and daughter Tammy of Minnesota. He was a loving grandfather to Marsha, April, Michele, Christopher, Alex, Samantha, Brooklyn, and Jett; and great- grandfather to Haylie, Madison, Liam and James. Predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy, son Bill and daughter Sherry. Funeral service will be held Wednesday July 31, 2013 at 10am at Atlantic Funeral Homes, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Reception to follow in funeral home reception lounge. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank the VON, Capital Health, Northwood and the Palliative Care team at the VG Hospital.
