The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, January 21, 2017 Annie Marie Roberts(April 10, 1924 - January 17, 2017) ROBERTS, (Annie) Marie 92, of Halifax, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Stone's Cove, Fortune Bay, Nfld., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Pope-Banfield) Johnson. She served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. A loving and devoted wife and mother, Marie will be fondly remembered for her terrific sense of humour, generosity and kindness to others, deep faith in God and pride in Newfoundland. Marie is survived by daughter Bertha, of Halifax; son Roy (Beverley) Lakelands; brother Clifton (Mary), Ontario; brother James (Glenda) Halifax; sister in lay Evelyn Roberts, Dartmouth; sister in law Margaret Johnson, Cape Breton; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her loving husband Ray; brothers Augustus, William and Russell; and infant sister Emma. Marie will be sadly missed by many family members and friends and her loving doggie Maggie. Visitation Sunday January 22, 2017 from m 6 – 8pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
