The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, January 28, 2017 Harris Woodford(September 24, 1919 - January 26, 2017) WOODFORD, Harris – age 97, Arbours of Tranquility Boarding Home, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born September 24, 1919 in Herring Neck, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Stanley and Blanche Woodford. Harris was a retired transport truck driver. He was a veteran of the second World War, having served with the British Royal Army and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 61 Yarmouth. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia L. (Hagen) Woodford, as well as by a son, Wayne Woodford and a step-son, William M. Hagen, as well as a granddaughter. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Chesley, Claude and Eric as well as by sisters, Rhoda and Muriel. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Yarmouth and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
