It is with great sadness that the family of the late ANNIE LOCKYER of Boat Harbour announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Monday, February 6, 2017, at the age of 78. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband, Joseph of 60 years; son, Kevin Lockyer of Boat Harbour; 2 grandchildren, Tina (Curtis) Smith of Lewin’s Cove, Justin Lockyer (Jasmine Stapleton) of Paradise; 2 great-grandchildren, Jake and Adam Smith; sister, Mildred Hoskins of Boat Harbour; brothers, Wallace Walters of St. John’s, Rendall Walters (Winnifred) of Boat Harbour, George Walters (Ruby) of Grand Bank, Norman Walters (Shirley) of Boat Harbour, Morgan Walters (Diane) of Brookside; sisters-in-law, Olive Brown (Henry) of Lewin’s Cove, Janet Clarke (Lloyd) of Alberta, Almyra Hagar (Ellwood) of Salmon Cove; brothers-in-law, John Whiffen of Boat Harbour, Russell Pike of Bay L’Argent, Earl Lockyer (Grace) of Boat Harbour, Samuel Hillier of Alberta; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by parents, James and Sarah Walters; parents-in-law, Earl and Caroline Lockyer; sisters, Florence Pike and Martha Whiffen; brother, James (Lita) Walters; sisters-in-law, Ann Hillier and Lillian Walters. The Lockyer Family will be accepting visitors at the United Church in Boat Harbour on Tuesday, February 7th, beginning at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, February 8th, all day and Thursday, February 9th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm; from where the Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, February 9th, at 2:00 pm. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annie’s memory may be made to The United Church, Boat Harbour or The United Church Cemetery Fund, Boat Harbour.
