It is with great sadness that the family of the late JESSIE HODDER of Rock Harbour announces her passing at the Blue Crest Interfaith Home in Grand Bank on Friday, February 3, 2017, at the age of 88. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Calvin of Creston North, John (Shirley) of Mooring Cove, Albert (Ella) of Creston South; daughters, Evelyn Melendy (Nowell) of Paradise, Frances Farewell of Creston South, Barbara Follett (Roy) of St. John’s, Sharon Hodder (Partner, Danny) of Kilbride; brothers, Charles Hooper at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank and Albert Hooper of Toronto; sisters, Frances Hodder of Rock Harbour and Effie Hillier of St. John’s; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Josiah; sons, Samuel and Eugene Hodder; daughters, Pauline Mallay and Nora Stacey; granddaughter, Shelly Farewell; parents, John and Jane Hooper; brothers, William and David Hooper; sister, Elizabeth Withers. The Hodder Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Marystown on Saturday, February 4th, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Sunday, February 5th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Rock Harbour on a date and time to be announced. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery in Rock Harbour.
