The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, February 28, 2017 Irma Muriel Hattie(December 30, 1919 - February 27, 2017) Age 97,passed away Monday,February 27,2017 in Northwood Center,Halifax. Born in Port Aux Basques,Newfoundland,on December 30,1919, daughter of the late John and Nina(Josey)Richards. Her father passing away at a young age,she and her mother and three sisters moved to Sheet Harbour,N.S. She later moved to Halifax to work where she met Murdoch Hattie from Sherbrooke,N.S.,marrying in October 1944 and eventually settling in Dartmouth where they had many wonderful friends. Her interests included knitting,needlepoint,reading,bowling and bridge,but most of all she loved her social time with family and friends. She was a longtime member of St.Andrew's Presbyterian Church,a lifetime member of the Atlantic Mission Society,the Ladies Guild and a member of the Prayer Shawl Group. She is survived by her daughters Sandra(Ivan)Bond,Fall River; Joan(George)Kolisnek, Ottawa; grandchildren, Cindy(Graham)White, Port Williams; Dr.Michael(Celia)Bond,Ottawa;Ian(Josee)Kolisnek and Jill(Jeff)Kimber of Ottawa; great-grandchildren, Ella and Jacob White; Caitlyn and Aiden Bond; Lily and Macie Kolisnek and Esme Kimber; her sister Blanche Fraser formerly of Halifax,now Toronto; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Murdoch in 1995; sisters Hyacinthe Legge,NFLD and Beulah Rhyno,New Minas N.S. The family wish to thank the wonderful care she received from the staffs of Northwood Manor and Northwood Center Nursing floor. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dartmouth Funeral Home. Memorial service at 2 pm,Thursday,March 2,2017 in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church 216 School St. Dartmouth; Rev.Dr.P.A."Sandy"McDonald officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
