The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, December 26, 2018 M. Eileen Strickland Age 83 of Bishopville, Kings Co., passed away peacefully in Hants Community Hospital in Windsor, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday afternoon, December 22, 2018. Born on August 17, 1935, in Dawson's Cove (now Sandyville), N.L., Eileen was the daughter of the late John and Pearl (Loveless) Wells. Eileen was blessed to have a full life, a life that was filled with friends, family and faith. From the beginning she touched the lives of everyone she met. From Newfoundland to Nova Scotia, her love of teaching stayed evident throughout her life as well as her love for the church. She was an active member of the ACW and loved attending the Sunday morning church service. For the longest part of her life she worked for Statistics Canada as a senior interviewer for a wonderful 25 years. Eileen lived an active life even though to her it was never enough. She was a teacher in everything she did who taught us the joy of friendship, the commitment of faith and love of family. Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, David Strickland, Bishopville; sons, Dave, William; daughter, Alleeta Strickland, all of Bishopville; her loving grandchildren, Devlin, Zachary, Katelyn, Brooklyn; sister, Gladys Simms, Sandyville; brother, Gary (Mary) Wells, Mount Pearl, N.L.; also extended family and the children whose lives she touched. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, John and Pearl (Loveless) Wells. Arrangements are under the care of Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 29th in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 59 Main St., Hantsport, with Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Reception will follow in the church hall before the burial in Bishopville Cemetery, Bishopville. Donations may be made to St. Andrew's Anglican Church ACW.
