The Chronicler Herald, Halifax, December 19, 2018 Purcell, James John Peter "Jim" Age 83, of Eastern Passage, passed away on December 17, 2018. Born in Portugal Cove, N.L., he was the loving husband of 62 years, to Marlene; father of sons, Jamey, Gary and Wade; grandfather of Taylor, Joshua, Jesse and Brandon; great-grandfather of Brayden; brother of Bill (predeceased), John, Ted and Mike (predeceased); son of Jack and Sarah. To know Jim was to know a love and kindness, a persistence and will to persevere through thick and thin - with his own special brand of vim and vigour. His greatest joys, and fondest memories, came from times spent with family and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a family man who cherished the love, life and laughs of family and friends, the most. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, December 19th and Thursday, December 20th from 7-9 p.m. in Eastern Passage Community Funeral Home, 5 Cow Bay Rd., Eastern Passage. Funeral service is on Friday, December 21st at 11 a.m. in the same location. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22nd, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Little Harbour.
