It is with broken hearts that the family of the late PATRICIA DUNPHY MORRISSEY announces her passing. Patricia passed away surrounded by her loving family at Pleasant View Towers, St. John’s on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the age of 79. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her husband, Bob; children, Velma (Brian Stapleton), Gord Jr. (Jocelyn), Goldie (Aloysius Farrell), Joyce (Gerald Mallay), Gerard (Ann-deceased), Dave (Donna), Shane (Diane), Darin (Sherrie), Rob (Jennifer) and Paul (Sarah); 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Also, her sisters, Magdalen (George) Brushett, Dora Osbourne, Rose Osbourne, Mary Osbourne and Lib Smith; brother-in-law, Joe (Mariette)Dunphy; sisters-in-law, Carol (Wally), Judy (Bob), Gladys (Ray) Fleming, Sheila Dunphy and Jean Osbourne as well as special friend Phyllis Murphy and an extended circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Sarah Osbourne; husband, Gordon Dunphy Sr.; daughter-in-law, Ann Dunphy; grandson, Richard Smith; brother, Bill Osbourne; brothers-in-law, Peter Dunphy, Johnny Dunphy, Edward Dunphy, Wayne Morrissey and Bill Smith. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 2SW of Pleasant View Towers and 3EW of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their care and compassion. The Dunphy & Morrissey family will be accepting visitors at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John’s on Tuesday December 11th from 2-8pm. Funeral Service will take place at 9am on Wednesday, December 12th from Caul’s Chapel. Further visitation will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence on Wednesday December 12th from 4-9pm, from where the Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 13th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Mount Cecilia Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Lawrence. In Patricia’s memory flowers are gratefully accepted.
