SMITH (1941-2014) It is with great sadness that the family of the late BILL SMITH of Marystown announces his passing at his home in Marystown on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at the age of 72. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Mary of 41 years; sons Colin of Brampton, ON and Rick (Lynn) of Paradise, NL; sister Stella Ernest of Albany, New York; sister-in-law Theresa Smith of Marystown; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Philip and Julia Smith; brother Jack Smith; sisters Phyllis Bowering, Patricia Smith and Mary Ellen Power and Uncle Tom Flannigan. Resting and visitation will take place from Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Marystown on Friday, January 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 4, at 1:00 p.m., from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Bill’s memory donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. or flowers gratefully accepted. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Julie, son John (Stacey), Creston South, daughters Tracey Hennebury (Shane), Prince George, BC, Lori Lockyer (Gerry), Likeley, BC, and Janice Brown (Corey), St. Johns; 5 grandchildren, Sarah, Carley, Julie, Hannah, and Emma; mother Isabel Farewell, Creston, brothers Kevin, Windsor, ON, Chesley, Creston, sister Tina Hannam, Creston, special niece Jennifer; and a large number nieces/nephews and relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father John Farewell and brother Onslow. At Alvin’s request, cremation will take place. Visitation will be a Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South, on Saturday at a time to be announced and the funeral will take be on Sunday at Calvary United Church, Creston South, at a time to be announced.
