The Cape Breton Post, February 7, 2014 Nina Jessome Born In: Burgeo, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada Passed in: North Sydney, on: February 5th, 2014 It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Nina Jessome, age 94, on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Burgeo, Nfld., Nina was the daughter of the late Henry and Annie Mae (Billard) Standing. Nina enjoyed knitting, sewing and quilting and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia 'Patsy' (Maurice) Tobin, Stoney Creek, Ont., Lois Jessome, Sydney, her two sons William Jessome, Sydney and Frederick (Tonia) Jessome, Ball’s Creek, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Jessie Williams, Halifax, nieces and nephews. Nina was predeceased by her husband, Chalmers Jessome; her sisters, Alma Seury, Freda Clarke and Ivy Horton and stepsisters, Cora Thorton and Ada. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service for Nina will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Fraser officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The War Amps. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
