The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, March 1, 2014 BURRIDGE, Stewart Augustus "Stew" - 66, Canso, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in QE 11 Health Sciences Centre - VG Site, Halifax. Born in Channel, Newfoundland on November 2, 1947, he was a son of the late Eli Augustus and Mary Rebecca (Anderson) Burridge. Stew was a fisherman and a member of the Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso. He was also a member of the Guysborough County Inshore Fisherman’s Association. He is survived by his daughter, Rosetta Burridge, Whistler, BC; sister, Joyce (Leo) Savoury, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; brothers, Lloyd (Helen), Port–aux-Basque, NL; Robert (Shirley), Sydney; Norm (Hilda), London, ON; several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Stew was predeceased by his wife, Geneva Martha (Bond) Burridge; brothers, Phil, George and Russell; sisters-in-law, Mildred Burridge and Doris Burridge. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial at a later date.
