The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, November 7, 2018 Martin, Mildred "Millie" Age 88, of Dartmouth, passed away on November 2, 2018 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Millie was born on Bell Island, N.L. in 1930 where she lived until moving to Saskatchewan with her husband Bob in 1965. They moved from Saskatchewan to Bathurst, N.B. in 1970 and after Bob's passing in 1995 Millie moved to Dartmouth to be closer to her family. Millie was an energetic and vivacious lady, an avid bowler, a great dancer and she made many new friends in Nova Scotia and Florida. Many will remember Millie from the Newfoundland Club where she loved to dance and from the K-Mart Store in Bathurst where she was the Resident Manager. She is survived by her son, Robert Wade Martin, Dartmouth; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Martin, Dartmouth; grandson, Scott Martin living and working in London, England and many nieces and nephews. Millie was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Bob" Douglas Martin. The last of 11 children, she was predeceased by her 10 siblings. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the funeral service which will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th. Visitation and service will be held in The Church of St. Andrew, 2 Circassion Dr., Dartmouth with Rev. Katherine Bourbonniere officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation will follow and the interment will take place at a later date in Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
