It is with great sadness that the family of the late Max (Taxi) Matthews of Grand Bank announces his passing at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the age of 68. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Bernice of 41 years; daughters; Pamela Hiscock (Jamie) of Marystown, April Stapleton (Phil) of Fortune; sisters, Emma Goulding, Henrietta Sellars, Roberta Holloway, Maude Ralph (Jack), Marie Matthews; brothers, Levi (Jane), Claude (Maude), Gary (Carol); 2 grandchildren, Haley & Ethan; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert & Stella Matthews; sister, Meta Havely; brothers, Bob, Leonard; brothers-in-law, Burt Goulding, David Holloway, Winston Sellers; nephew, Bob Goulding. The Matthews’ Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Grand Bank on Saturday, September 22nd & Sunday, September 23rd from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday, September 24th, at 2:00pm from The Salvation Army, Grand Bank. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Grand Bank.
