    3. ANDREW (Andy) HINES 1928-2016 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Andrew Hines announces his passing on Tuesday July 26, 2016 in the Victoria General Hospital, QEII, Halifax. Andy was born in English Harbour East, Fortune Bay, NL., and was a son of the late Joseph and Monica (Emberley) Hines. In his early years, Andrew moved from Newfoundland to Halifax to work in the fisheries. He then moved to Toronto and had an over 50 year career in Dental Supplies, retiring from Ash Temple in 1996. He returned to Nova Scotia for his retirement years, first to Bridgewater, then to Halifax, and finally Timberlea. Andy will be remembered for his love of life and his passion for sports. He was known for having a big heart and is love for his family and friends. Andy is survived by his great niece Julie (Brian) Thibeau and their son Brett; and many nieces and nephews in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. He will also be dearly missed by his furry friend Oscar. He was predeceased by his sisters Maggie and Theresa; and brothers Pat, John "Jack", Jim and George. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday July 29 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. Visitation will also take place at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, English Hr. East, NL at a time and date to be announced. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, English Harbour East, Fortune Bay, Newfoundland and a time and date to mbe announced. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Church, English Hr. East, NL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB. Special thanks to the staff of 6A and 7A Centennial building, VG, Janice Leslie for many years of special care you provided to Andy, to Closing the Gap home care providers, Dr. Umar Haider and Dr. Daniel O’Brien Jr. and to all who offered support to Andy and family during this time.
