It is with great sadness that the family of the late ADELA MCCARTHY announces her passing at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s on August 24, 2018, at the age of 82. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are; husband Maurice of 62 years; daughters, Mary Byrde (Ray), Jenny Fizzard (Charles), Frances Hynes (Michael), Madonna McCarthy (Kevin), Catherine Hodder (Edward), Joan Russell (Andrew); sons, Maurice McCarthy, Albert McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Jimmy McCarthy, Pierce McCarthy (Verna); sister, Nora Mitchell; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Lavhey; plus a large circle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John J. Mitchell & Mary Bridget Clarke; sons, Patrick John McCarthy, Michael Joseph McCarthy. The McCarthy Family will be accepting visitors at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Terrenceville on Monday, August 27th from 2:00pm to 9:00pm and Tuesday, August 28th from 9:00am to 9:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 29th at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Terrenceville.
