    1. [NL-ROOTS] Obituary - Fudge, Nathan
    2. Bill Cook
    3. The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, March 17, 2014 Nathan Fudge(December 21, 1947 - March 14, 2014) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Nathan Fudge on Friday, March 14th in his home in Halifax. Nathan ended his battle with gastric cancer at the age of 66, surrounded by his darling Lilly and his loving children. Born in Francois, Newfoundland in 1947 and raised in Louisbourg, C.B., Nathan was the son of Nathan and Marie. He was a husband to Lilly, a father to Conor (Courtney) and Alice (Peter), grandfather to Charlie, and brother to Loretta (William) and Eric. Nathan was an uncle, a cousin, and a dear friend to many. He was previously deceased by his father and his brother. Nathan lived a full and rich life. Degrees from St. F.X. ('70, '72) and Dalhousie ('96) university afforded him a long and influential career in teaching in Newfoundland and Halifax, but not before he'd spend years as a young man travelling the world. His journeys and experiences left him with many stories and great perspective on life, but especially a great many friends. Despite his adeptness in, and enthusiasm for everything from carpentry and mechanics to politics and philosophy, Nathan will be remembered most for his effect on his friends and family. He so valued his many relationships, be they friends, classmates, colleagues, Scooters, fellow musicians or members of the Inner Core. With all of these people, he reveled in lively discussion, friendly debate, times of good humour, and of course entertaining on his squeezebox. Luckiest though were Nathan's family. His children, with whom he fathered with Ellen, benefitted from insightful advice, endless encouragement and an overwhelming sense of pride. In the last many years of his life, he found great happiness with Lilly, who will forever cherish his beautiful mind and the love they shared. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 18th from 6-8 PM at J.A. Snow Funeral Home at 339 Lacewood Drive. Nathan's funeral will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 19th at 10:30 AM. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

    3. If anyone would like the below Obituary, Please reply to me. IF FULL NAME (of the decease) IS NOT SENT, I WILL NOT SEND OBITUARY NEWHOOK, Robert 1935-2014, born in The USA BROTHER OF PREVIOUSLY POSTED: NEWHOOK, Arthur 1938-2013, born in The USA Paternal Grandparents born in NL, Grandmother was a COLE. NOTE: If you find a connection to any of these USA obituaries {after viewing them} and send information to me of the person, such as where they were born, their parent's names (if not stated in the obit.) and information of their spouse, I will add it below their obituary for other researchers. ALSO NOTE: These Obituaries I am posting for request, for the entire obituary, have "Copy Rights." That is the reason I am posting just the names and age and date of death. Due to Copy Rights, I CANNOT post the obituary to ANY mailing list. I am trying very hard to post as much as I can, such as maiden names and mother's maiden name to make it as easy as I can for any researcher of our Newfoundland families.
