Hi Listers Can anyone out there help Jerry with this jerway@comcast.net Fred Pafford -----Original Message----- From: Jerry Way [mailto:jerway@comcast.net] Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2003 11:33 AM To: Fred Pafford Subject: Re: Looking for Gideon Way Hi Fred; Thanks for your feedback. My limited data indicates that Gideon was Methodist... Consider the following from Shirley Hall, gggranduaghter of Flora Oldford, sister of Anna Maria Oldford, Gideon Way's wife... From History of Education in Musgravetown, written by Anna Belle Peddle in 1986... " Around 1868 the first school was built in centre Musgravetown - the Wesleyan School. In that same year, a teacher Gideon Way was sent by Methodist Society of England to teach the children of Bloomfield and Musgravetown. Mr Way was originally a blacksmith by trade from Bonavista. He became not only the first teacher but also the Lay Reader. He held Bible classes in the School as well as Day Classes. (Anna Belle Peddle is 85 years old in 2002). Do you know how I might contact Anna Belle Peddle? Or obtain a copy of her writings? I understand she has authored several books. RSVP, Jerry
