CHATMAN, Chesley - Passed peacefully away at Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, on Wednesday, December 3, 2003, Chesley Chatman of Bunyan`s Cove, aged 92 years. Predeceased by his wife Catherine and two sisters Effie and Elsie. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughter Essie Shea (Tom), Grand Falls-Windsor; sisters Nina (Joe Russeau), California; Alma (Ted), Toronto and Mary (Stan Chafe), Toronto; brother Albert (Clarice), Bunyan`s Cove; granddaughter Jacqueline Billard (Mark), St. John`s; two grandsons Kevin and Paul Shea, Grand Falls-Windsor; one great-grandson Triston Shea, Grand Falls-Windsor and a large number of relatives and friends. Resting at St. Paul`s United Church, Bunyan`s Cove. December 04, 2003 DUNN, John Joseph - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on December 2nd, 2003, John Joseph Dunn, at the age of 86 years, World War II Veteran, 59th Newfoundland Heavy Regiment Royal Artillery, long-time employee of A. Harvey and Company. Predeceased by special sister-in-law Loretta Cahill. Leaving to mourn his sad loss, his loving wife Elizabeth Cahill; sons John (Alda), Michael (Florence), Shaun; daughters: Ellen (Bill Maher), Charmaine (Bill Bursey), Scarlet (Bill Hann), Mary Lou (Brendan Veres); seventeen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister Catherine Way; brother-in-law Michael Cahill (Louise); also a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. December 04, 2003 JOHNSON, Kathryn Margaret (Kit) - Gone to be with her Heavenly Father on December 3, 2003, Kathryn Margaret Johnson (Kit), long time resident of the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex, aged 59 years. Predeceased by her sister Mary in 1997. Remembering her with fond and loving memories are her mother Helen Hood, brother Stephen, son Scott and family in B.C., stepbrother Peter Hood and family, her extended family at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex, special friends Nora, Linda and Bev, as well as other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Miller Centre on December 3, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer, Violet Strickland of Mt. Pearl, age 72. Born in Gooseberry Cove, T. Bay, she is predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Eliza Smith, brother George and sister Florance (Wicks). Leaving to mourn husband Selby, daughter Dawn (Steve), son Paul (Lorraine), sister Maise (Hector Ploughman), brothers Bax (Jean) and Jim (Ann); five cherished grandchildren: Alana, Mark, Benjamin, Stephen and Kandice; special niece Velma (Dave Brown); also, a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. John Janes, Family Physician; Dr. Joy McCarthy, Oncology Unit, Health Sciences Centre and staff and volunteers of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre.
