December 19, 2003 O`BRIEN, Edmund James - Director of Transportation & Communications for the province of Newfoundland & Labrador - 1973 - 1986. His family are saddened to announce the early, but peaceful, death of their beloved husband, father and grandfather on Friday, November 28th, 2003. Ed, aged 78, passed away at home, with his wife, partner and best friend Carol at his side. Ed is also survived by his and Carol`s children Patricia; John; Kevin; Renee; Stephen; Murray and Wade and their families. There are ten wonderful grandchildren who will grieve the loss of their dear Grampa and Poppa. Ed was predeceased by his daughter Jillianne in 2000.
