Hi everyone, Having been a member of every Newfoundland genealogy mailing list since their beginnings, it's time to call it quits. My parents and I started our search for the Newfoundland origins of my great grandfather Thomas Flynn back in 1995, and despite trying just about every possible avenue, we've drawn a complete blank. In the eight years since we started out, both my parents have passed away, and I've carried on the search in their absence, but finally have to admit defeat. It's not all bad news though, because I've corresponded with some wonderful people through the mailing lists, and come across so many people who have freely offered advice and their time to do lookups for me. Genealogy seems to bring out the best in people. I would especially like to thank the past and present coordinators of the Newfoundland Grand Banks website, whose selfless willingness to help others is really appreciated by everyone who uses the site.
