(nee Gillard) - Promoted to Glory on Thursday, December 19, 2003, in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband Brigadier Waler (1966). Leaving to mourn son Sherman (Lyn); daughters Shirley Benson (Tom) and Elizabeth Woodland (Bruce); six grandchildren: Scott (Patty) Oakley, Daryl (Christine) Oakley, Derek (Pamela) Benson, Lisa (Greg) Madden, Damon (Jennifer) Woodland, Gillian Woodland; eight great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Arthur Oakley and George White; sisters-in-law Pearl Oakley and Etta Gillard; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitation from 10 am - 9 pm on Friday, December 19, and from 10 am - 12 noon on Saturday, December 20. Funeral service 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 20, 2003, from the Salvation Army Temple, 101 Torbay Road. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Flowers gratefully declined. Predeceased by his mother Catherine, father John and brother Patrick.
