I thought I would try once again to see if anyone has some knowledge of the Applin families from the North Penn. I am seeking information about Emily APPLIN b. 1904 daughter of Thomas APPLIN (b. 1878) and Mary unknown. Mary married John HUMBER following Thomas's death in 1905. I have been searching and requesting documents from the Archives/Vital stats and have not been able to access information that would lead me to information about my grandmother's mother, etc. My grandmother always said patience was a virtue. I am lucky enough to have her sister still alive at 101 years young, Jane Applin BENNETT, at the nursing home in Corner Brook. However, all my attempts to write to her or have someone touch base with her have failed. I am not able to go to NL at this time. Every day I cautiously read the obits for fear that she has passed on before I am able to make contact with her. If I could only drive there myself .... the information I would have. The Applin's were not a huge family and it seems that their families were the result of 3 brothers coming to the Island. I have been in touch with some Applin's related to my grandmother. But I cannot uncover who her mom was and I do not know any information past the name of her grandparents, Joseph b. 1835 and Jane COOMBS b. 1844 I would be so grateful if someone could take the time to share even the smallest of information with me about this family. We all know what it is like, we just need that little clue that will open up a whole new search. thank you and Happy and Safe Holidays Cindy researching Gallant - Bay of Islands, brother to Felix of Stephenville's family.
