COONEY, Ann Marie (nee O`Toole) - Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre after a lengthy battle with cancer on August 7, 2003, Ann Marie Cooney aged 72 years. Predeceased by her husband Ted and son Gary. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, mother Mildred O`Toole; sister Patsy Chafe (Hubert); sister-in-law Joan Cooney; son Paul (Dianne); son Bob (Peg); daughter Mary Williams (Jerry); daughter Mercedes Walsh (Tom); son David, with whom she resided; daughter Joan Abbott (John); daughter Sheila Downey (Rick); daughter Carolyn LeDrew (Brian); son Tony (Lynn); all her grandchildren: Michael, Gary, Heather, Jamie, Shawn, Justin, Angela, Tommy, Christopher, Michael, Christine, Mark, Chad, Rosie; one great-grandchild, Kyle; also many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff on 2 South of the Miller Centre. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Carmel Cemetery. August 08, 2003 DWYER, James P. (Jim) - Passed suddenly away at the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital, Bell Island on August 7, 2003, aged 63 years. Leaving to mourn his son Jimmy (Amanda Woodfine), Torbay; his two precious grandchildren: Jasmine and Haley; two sisters: Patricia (Reg Bennett), St. John`s, Jean (Bill Bursey), Bell Island; special friend Christine Whalen; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Pendergast`s Funeral Home. Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Michael`s Church. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bell Island. August 08, 2003 HOOKEY, Roger Edward - Died suddenly July 29, 2003, Roger Edward Hookey, aged 47 years. Predeceased by brothers Paul, 1992 and David, 1998. Left to remember him, parents, Edward and Catherine; brother Brian (Judy); sisters: Donna Snow (Randy), Yvonne Wall (Brian), Pamela (George) and their families; special uncle and aunt, Jim and Edna Hookey, Brighton, ON; also a number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visiting hours were Friday 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. Funeral was held on Saturday, August 2nd at 9:30 a.m. from Caul`s Chapel. Cremation followed. August 08, 2003 KIELLY, James Patrick - Of Williamsford and formerly of Bay Roberts, NL. Passed away on August 5, 2003 in his 86th year. Devoted husband of Wendy (nee Thompson); step-son of Annie Stapleton of St. John`s, NL; dear father of Peter (Gaynor), Stephen (Anne), Martin (Diane), Neil (Margaret), Julia, Joanna, Daniel, Jane (Greg), Timothy (Stacy). He will also be missed by his eight grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, John and Agnes Kielly; his brother John and his sister Patricia. Jim, a veteran of WWII, served with the RAF in Europe, North Africa and Burma. He retired from the airforce in 1962. His love and association with aviation took him to Korea, Singapore, Cyprus and Saudi Arabia until finally retiring to Williamsford, Ontario. Friends will be received at the CURRIE FUNERAL HOME in Chatsworth on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. thence to St. Stanislaus R.C. Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Prayers will be said at the f! uneral home Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. A legion memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday evening at 9:00 pm. Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chatsworth. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the charity of your choice if you should so desire. August 08, 2003 LUDLOW, Louise - Louise Ludlow, formerly of Rodger`s Cove, Gander Bay, passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on June 10, 2003 at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Sadie of Fort McMurray and Eileen (Ed) of Edmonton; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; brothers: Lester and Lewis (Margaret) and sister Violet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Chesley and son John in 1964; son Ben and daughter Kathleen in 1997; and grandchildren: Mary Ludlow, Debbie Hillier and Freddy Bird. A memorial service will be held August 10th, 2003 from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Wings Point, Gander Bay with interment of ashes at the Victoria Cove Cemetery also in Gander Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice. August 08, 2003 MERCER, Gertrude J. (Crane) - Passed peacefully away August 7, 2003 at Carbonear General Hospital after a brief illness, Gertie Mercer, age 73. Predeceased by her husband Leander, July 1994. Leaving behind with cherished memories, five children: Shirley (Pat) Collins, Paul (Philomena) Mercer, Marilyn (Cyril) Peckham, Betty (Bill) Donahue and Linda (Warren) Adams; twelve grandchildren: Richard (Susanne), Paul (Pam), Dale (Michelle), Brian (Charlene), Gillian (Paul), Wendy (David), Jonathan, Michael, Justin, Matthew, Ryan and Bradley; one great-granddaughter, Erin; three sisters: Susie, Iris and Jean (John); four brothers: Joe (Olive), Ralph (Phyllis), Edward (Marina) and Clyde (Becky) and their families; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Remains resting at Young`s Funeral Home, Spaniard`s Bay. Funeral service to be announced later. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Peter`s Church Memorial Fund. ³To live in the hearts of those you love is not to die² August 08, 2003
