Leaving to mourn one daughter, Norma Bonnell of Cupids; three sisters: Sadie Mutford, Etobicoke, Ontario, Clarice Russell, Corner Brook and Dorothy French, Whitby, Ontario; also one brother, George Taylor, South River. Resting at Broughton`s Funeral Home, Brigus until 12 noon on Friday, August 22, 2003. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Cupids. August 21, 2003 DALTON, George A. - Passed peacefully away after a brief illness, in the presence of his family, on Tuesday, August 19, 2003, at Humber River Regional Hospital, Toronto, George A. Dalton, age 65, of Downsview, Ontario, formerly of Bell Island. Predeceased by his parents and brother Richard. Leaving to mourn loving family, wife Rita (Kieley); son David (Karen); daughters: Denise Pickett (Andrew); Pamela (David Oberer); grandchildren: Carly, Joshua and Jack Pickett; sisters: Patricia Normore, Jenny Slade and Frances Dalton; brothers: Edward Butler, Bill, Vince and Don Dalton; a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents, James and Gladys Lucus; nephews: Richie Smith and Jimmy Cummings; and brother-in-law Sam Cummings. Left to celebrate her life are her sons: Victor Evoy and Keith Evoy (Gina Morris); one beautiful granddaughter Gailene Morrissa Evoy; five sisters: Connie McNiven (Dave), Lillian Brown (Ted), Frances Smith (Fred), Carol Greene (Bob), Sherry Cummings; one brother Jim Lucus (Pauline); also mourning her loss many nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers at the School Lunch Association. She was the daughter of Maggie and James Power. Alice was educated in St. Johns and then joined the Women`s Army Core (WAC`s) in 1943. She took part in basic training in Halifax and Ontario. Alice was discharged in 1946 and returned to St. John`s. She again moved to Halifax where she continued her education by studying and receiving a diploma in business. She was then employed by the Federal government. In 1951 she married Arnold Hobin. They have two children, David and Sharon who is married to George Habib in Mississauga. Alice has three terrific grandchildren, Sara, Timothy and Daniel, who will miss her very much. Alice was employed at Sears for many years and was active in provincial and federal politics for the Liberal Party. Besides her loving family she is survived by sister-in-law Edna Hobin (Hfx.); nieces: Mary Connolly (St. John`s) and Jeanne Sullivan (Hfx.) and nephews: Brian Hobin (Hfx.), Cyril, John and L! eonard Whalen and David Martin (St. John`s). Alice was predeceased by sisters Eileen and Margaret and brother Jim. Special thanks to the friends and staff of Tullemore Nursing Home in Brampton, ON for their love and support over the last eight years. Also very special thanks to the ³Boxing Day Girls² for their love and support during this very difficult time. Funeral Mass and cremation was held in Mississauga on August 13, 2003. A Memorial Service and reception will be held at Snow`s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. at 11:00 a.m. on August 23, 2003. Burial following reception at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Halifax.
