Hi Listers, I am still attempting to locate the christening/baptism of my grandmother who, according to her marriage certificate and the English 1901 census, was born in St. John's NFLD 10th July 1867. She was Maria BUTT, her father was Richard, a carpenter. Can anyone point me in the right direction towards where the records may be found? I do not think she was a Catholic but could have been either C.of E. or Non-Conformist. She married my grandfather, an English soldier, in the Barracks Chapel, Halifax, N.S. and returned to England with him after his tour of duty. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
