BASTOW, David Alan - Passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, August 3, 2003 at St. Clare`s Hospital, David Bastow, aged 77. Youngest son of the late Hugh Alan and Mabel Bastow. Predeceased by his beloved wife Susannah (Parsons) and by his brother Gerald H. Beloved father of Andrea (Nevin Sivers) Bracebridge, Ontario and Philip (Janice) of Toronto, and loving grandfather to Mark Bastow. Also leaving to mourn two sisters: Ruth Miller (Herb) and Eileen Martin (Graham); two brothers: Gordon J. (Mardi) and Douglas (Elizabeth); cherished friend of both his late wife and David, Phyllis Hamlyn (Moncton); and by many nieces and nephews throughout the province and nation. David touched many people with whom he sang including The Anglican Cathedral Choir, The St. John`s Choir, The Cathedral Echoes Choir, The Wesley Men`s Choir and many other informal groups throughout his life. We wish to extend our gratitude to the caring staff at St. Clare`s Hospital and the Leonard A. Miller Ce! nter and Dr. Al Felix for his care. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Augustine`s Anglican Church on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. In memory of David Bastow, donations may be made to the Leonard A. Bishop, of Tilton, age 91 years. He is predeceased by his parents Noah and Bertha Bishop, wife Helen (Nellie) (2000), daughter Sylvia (1950), brother Harold (1998) and the following in-laws: Fred and Eileen Smith, Jacob and Becky Smith, John Drodge, Richard and Suzanna Neil, Joseph Smith and Edward Glover. Leaving to mourn three daughters: Bernice (Capt. Edward Parsons), Spaniards Bay, Audrey (Graham Smith), Trinity East, Norma (Wayne Mercer), Main Point, Gander Bay; one son Douglas (Charlotte), Tilton; eleven grandchildren: Jason (wife Angela), Angela, Cory, Amanda, Sylvia, Paula, Joanne, Wanda Lee, Stephanie, Andrew, Abigail; two great-grandchildren: Michaela and Jared; four sisters-in-law: Mary Bishop, Spaniard`s Bay, Eileen Dodge, Mount Pearl, Winnifred Glover, Witless Bay, Jane Smith, Tilton and a large circle of relatives and ! friends. Resting at Young`s Funeral Home, Spaniard`s Bay. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 6th at 2 p.m. from All Saint`s Anglican Church, Tilton with interment to follow at All Saint`s Anglican Cemetery. No flowers by request. August 05, 2003 CLARKE, Russell Myles - Passed away suddenly on August 3rd, 2003 in St. John`s, NL, Russ Clarke, former CBC T.V. and Radio Announcer and well known local musician. Predeceased by his wife Margaret Gertrude, his parents William and Catherine Clarke; brothers: Francis and Randall; sisters: Shirley and Joan. Leaving to mourn daughters: Regina, Mary and Denise; sons: Bill (Tina), Randy (Nancy), and Russ (Laurie). Grandchildren: Christine, Stephen and Mark, Sylvana and Marla, Ryan, Laurissa and Erica, Alison and Jennifer, Christina, Michael and James as well as many other relatives and friends. DAWE, Edith Muriel- Passed peacefully away at St. Clare`s Hospital on Monday, August 4, 2003, Edith Muriel Dawe of Cupids, aged 93 years. Predeceased by her husband, James B. Dawe and son, Edgar Dawe. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: daughter: Marjorie (Grace) McNulty (Herbert); daughter-in-law, Ann; one sister: Sybil Dawe; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Left with loving and precious memories her devoted husband and best friend Tom; three loving children: Kim, Susan (Glen) Smallwood, Tommy (Darlene); five precious grandchildren: Curtis and Ian Smallwood, Katie and Tyler Gaulton and Thomas Ryan; sisters: Liz (Robert) Dougherty and Carmel Miller; brothers: Pat (Gertie) Miller, Leo (Judy) Miller; mother-in-law Dorothy Gaulton; sister-in-law Eleanor (Robert) Chafe; also left to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.     2. Hello Evelyn, Thanks for sharing this my friend. Edith Muriel Dawe was the daughter of Herbert Bishop 1883-1966 and Elfreda Bishop 1885-1978, they were third cousins. Other siblings of Edith were Lana(Lena)1911-1929, Albert 1918-1935 m. Mary Andrews b. abt 1918, Sybil b Aug 1920, H. Douglas 1923-1981 m. Vera Curnew b. abt 1921 and Grace Bishop. DAWE, Edith Muriel- Passed peacefully away at St. Clare`s Hospital on Monday, August 4, 2003, Edith Muriel Dawe of Cupids, aged 93 years. Predeceased by her husband, James B. Dawe and son, Edgar Dawe.
