KEEPING, Waldron - Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness on September 3, 2003 at the DVA Caribou Pavillion in St. John`s, Waldron Keeping, formerly of Rencontre East, at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife of 61 years, Frances and children: Flora Smith (Burt), Nova Scotia, Gladys Vivian (Herb), St. John`s, Philip (Eleanor), Nassau, Doreen Fitzpatrick (Joe), New Brunswick and Ellen Stevenson (Derek), St. John`s; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers: Hiram, Gander, Roy (Inez), St. John`s and sister Ethel, St. John`s; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Thursday, September 4 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, September 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Predeceased by her husband Stephen; children: Stephanie and Michael; father Edward; brother Robert and sister Rhoda. Leaving to mourn companion and friend, Sam Kavanagh; daughter Charmaine (Murphy) Munch, Bell Island; son Stephen, Ontario; grandchildren: Andrea Munch, Stephen and Karley Murphy; mother Mary Clements (Churchill); ten sisters; four brothers; as well as many other relatives and friends. Dinn of St. Joseph`s, age 60 years. Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Teresa Dinn; brother George Dinn. Left with fond memories are six sisters: Mary Fagan (Joseph), Riverhead, NL, Nellie Hanlon (Ronald), Chelmesford, ON, Joan Fowler (Clayton), Chamberlains, NL, Pauline Bonia (Jerome), Kilbride, NL, Elizabeth Dinn, St. Joseph`s, NL, Cathy Wall (Vince), Labrador City, NL; one brother, Bernard Dinn, St. Joseph`s, NL; one uncle James Furey (Jean), Avondale, NL; twenty-two nephews and nieces; twenty-two great-nephews and nieces; special friend Nora Ryan. September 05, 2003 FREAKE, Herbert M. - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John`s on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, Herbert M. Freake of Birchy Bay, in his 64th year. Predeceased by his father Simon, mother Alice, one brother Roy, three sisters Gertrude, Emma and Winnifred. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Margaret of 43 years. Daughters: Monica (Shawn Wiseman) of Gander, and Charmaine (Jason Eveleigh) of St. John`s. Son: Morley (Brenda) of Lewisporte; sisters: Phyllis (Gerald Pitcher) of Foxtrap, and Bernice (Baxter Burt) of Birchy Bay.
