September 03, 2003 PYE, John - Passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 30, 2003, John Pye, in his 53rd year. Loving husband of Lynn (Doody) and wonderful father of Keli-Ann (Brent), Michelle, and Alison (Chris). Also left to celebrate his life are his brothers and sisters: Bert (Joan), Cyril (Doris), Reg (Betty), Paul (Nellie), Helen O`Brien (Ed), Elva Parsons (Bud), Nona Norton (Ron), Verna Greening, Margie Jeans (Bill), Yvonne Noseworthy (Alex); brothers-in-law: Victor Doody (Linda), Tom Doody (Madelyn); sisters-in-law: Barb Miller (Allan), Cathy Walsh (Brian), Carol Denis (Stephane); his uncle Reg Pye (Jenny) and Aunt Marg Gillard. September 03, 2003 RALPH, James Patrick - After a long battle with Cancer since 1997 and a fighting struggle to the end, on September 2, 2003 surrounded by his family, James Patrick Ralph of Bellevue, Trinity Bay went to rest with God at the age of 79 years. He will be sadly missed and forever loved by his wife Madeline, his five daughters: Rose, Marguerite, Pat, Sandy and Josephine; his five sons: David, Myles, William, Jim (Jr.), and Ambrose and all their families including thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will also be missed and remembered fondly by many other loved relatives and close friends. We will live on in his Spirit, Love, Life and Laughter. Resting at his home Wednesday night. GEORGE, Patrick - Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, September 1, 2003, age 71 years. Predeceased by his mother and father (Alice and Jim) and his sister (Madonna Oates). Beloved wife of James Louis Bavington (deceased) for almost 67 years. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Mary Mitchell and her husband Don, North Bay, ON and by her son Bill Bavington and his wife Grace Ann (Willis). She is the dear grandmother of Wendy Williams (Peter), Wanda Reyes (Jorge), Mark Mitchell (Lisa), Dean Bavington and Beth Ann Bartlett (Jason) and great-grandmother to Jennifer, Danica, Gary, Jordan, Bianca, Tanya, Zachary and Emma. The family expresses sincere thanks to Dr. Pauline Duke and Family Medicine residents of the Family Practice Clinic and to care giver Joanne Parsons for their long term dedication and caring. September 04, 2003 CHUBBS, George Thomas - Age 83 years. Passed peacefully away on September 3, 2003 at Townside, Placentia, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his son George in 1971 and his daughter June in 2002. Leaving to mourn with fond memories, his wife of over 60 years, Mary Josephine; four sons: Gary, Leon, Carl and Robert and four daughters: Dorothy, Maxine, Lorraine and Cindy; along with eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Born and resided in Carbonear until the opening of Argentia Naval Base where he spent a lengthy career as Fire Captain for over 30 years. He was very active in the community, but most of all was known for his love of church work at St. Luke`s Anglican Church. He will be sadly missed by his church community. September 04, 2003 CLARKE, COISH (Janet W.) (nee Hepburn) - age 80 passed away at Amherst, N.S. August 29, 2003, leaving to mourn loving son Arnot and daughter-in-law Gladys (nee Janes), granddaughters Andrea (Jason McInnis), Susan and Jennifer, sister Christine Worters, Oxford England, sister-in-law Mildred Harris (William, C.A.) and nieces and nephews in England, Newfoundland and Ontario. Predeceased by husband Charles in 1984. Janet was born to Dr. Arnot and Jenny Hepburn in April 24, 1923 Norwich, England and was educated in England. She served in The WAAF (Womens Auxiliary Air Force) as a radar operator during WWII. A British War bride, she became a Newfoundland resident in 1946 and Canadian citizen in 1964. She joined Ayres & Sons Ltd in the early 1960`s as a Personnel Manager, while her husband worked as a manager at Bowring Bros. Ltd. After retiring in the late 1970`s, Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid reader. Cremation has taken place.
