I have just discovered an ancestor from Channel immigrated to Skeena River BC and worked at Inverness Cannery there in the 1890's. Would anyone have heard of others who went there as fishermen? I am wondering why they went and how and how they would have heard of the place, which no longer exists, (Inverness that is). Beth in Calif.
