Elizabeth (Betty) is proud to announce the arrival of her precious daughter, Rayleene Qiwen, who was born in Anhui Province, China, on August 8, 2002. Adopted in China on August 11, 2003, and returned home to St. John`s, Newfoundland, to a warm welcome by family and friends on August 22, 2003. Special thanks to Mary Cormier-Forsey and Vanessa Bartlett who accompanied Mommy to China to adopt Rayleene. Thank you to my friend Kelly Power Kean who was unable to make the journey to China but supported me every step of the way. To all who helped along the way, Thanks. Emma Judy was born 4 weeks early on August 8, 2003 at WHC, weighing 5 lbs. 10 oz. Proud 1st time grandparents are Ches and Rhoda Piercey of Islington and 10th time grandparents Vic and Marina Langer of Heart`s Content; as well, great-grandmother Elsie Legge of Whiteway. Waiting at the door to welcome home Emma was our canine baby, Kallie. Watching over Emma from heaven is Aunt Bernice. Special thanks to Drs. Lane Thomas was born on Thursday, August 21, 2003, at 9:41 a.m., at the Women`s Health Centre, weighing 9 lbs. Lane is welcomed by proud grandparents Bill and Ruby Mitchell of Lewins Cove and Bob and Minnie Lane of Catalina. Many thanks to Dr. Kravitz and Dr. Kabisios for ensuring Lane`s safe arrival and to all the nurses and staff in the Caseroom and on 5NB. A special thanks to Aunt Donna who once again helped Mommy through the labour and delivery.
