    2. I don't know who was placing the Cape Breton / NFLD obits to the list. The Cape Breton Post obits are back online at: http://www.capebretonpost.com A CB / NFLD obit from today is: Mildred Mary Griffin, 71, Sydney/Newfoundland - It is with deepest sorrow that we, the children of Mildred Griffin, wish to announce her passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on August 29, 2003 at the age of 71. She passed peacefully into the hands of God with her daughter, Peggy Ann at her side. Born in Avondale, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late William John and Elizabeth Meaney. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Peggy Ann (Mark), Nova Scotia; sons, Glenn, Manitoba, Garry (Trisha), Manitoba; brothers, Aaron (Helen), California, Bill (Helen), California, Con of Newfoundland; sister, Tess, Newfoundland and granddaughter, Magan Allyn, Manitoba. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Kevin and Jim; sisters, Helen, Mary Ellen, Bride and Margaret. Mom was a loving and devoted mother. She leaves us with her strength, will power, courage and love. She was an angel of sweetness and her accomplishments throughout her life as a juvenile diabetic should be an inspiration to others. Mom always put her children first. She is now our guardian angel, which is the greatest gift she could have left us. Visitation will be held at Dunphy™s Funeral Home, Holyrood, Nfld., today (Tuesday), 7-9:30 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at Assumption Parish, Avondale, Nfld. with Fr. Michael Barker officiating, followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery. As memorials, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
