ALLEN, Malcolm (Max) Hector - Passed peacefully away on September 29, 2003 after a long battle with prostate cancer. Max, in his 67th year, was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Malcolm and Evelyn and brother Cambridge. Left with fond memories are his loving wife Laura; one son Terry; daughter-in-law Kim; granddaughter Kali Sue; grandson Riley; brothers: Freeman, Harvey and wife Marie; twin brother Bill and wife Eileen; and a large circle of relatives and friends. A very special thank you to Dr. Pheonia O`Shea and nurses Carmel and Chris, Dr. Essaji and the community health nurses that cared for him. Cremation has already taken place. The family will be receiving visitations by family and friends at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, September 30 from 2-4 and 6-10 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 1 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. A Memorial service will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall ! of Jehovah`s Witnesses, Old Placentia Road, Mount Pearl. Flowers gratefully accepted. Beloved husband of Joyce (French); cherished father of Pam Rhodenizer and Kathy Vincer (Michael); proud and loving grandfather of Michael, Stephen (Michelle) and David Rhodenizer, Anthony, Mary Pam and Tom Vincer. September 30, 2003 LYVER, Ellen Marie - Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Palliative Care Unit of the L.A. Miller Centre, St. John`s, on September 29, 2003, Ellen Marie Lyver (Ella), aged 55 years. Predeceased by her parents, Peter and Annie Lyver. Leaving to mourn her brother: Anthony (Mona), Montreal, Quebec; her sister: Margaret (Donald Rowe), Coquitlam, B.C.; Uncle Allan Lannon and Aunt Catherine Lannon, St. John`s and Aunt Annie Lannon, Golspie, Scotland; three nephews; two nieces; one grand-nephew; two grand-nieces, cousins and a large circle of friends and supporters. Ella attended Mt. St. Vincent University and Memorial University of Newfoundland, graduating with a Bachelor of Education. She enjoyed a 30 year teaching career, 28 years which were at Immaculate Conception School, Colliers, C. Bay. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Rd., St. John`s. Visitation on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 7 pm - 9 pm and Wednesday, Octo! ber 1 at 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm (Vigil service 8 pm). Funeral Mass to be announced later. September 30, 2003 O`MARA, Marie (Breen) - beloved wife of the late Herbert O`Mara, passed peacefully away on Saturday, September 27th, 2003 at the Masonic Nursing Home. She leaves three daughters: Marie Litzinger (Baltimore, MD), Sr. Barbara Wells (Ontario) and Ruth Fowler (St. John`s); seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother Matthew and one sister Rosalita (Doll), both of Ontario; one sister-in-law Mrs. Eileen Pollard. Leaving to mourn sisters: Bernadine Chafe, Petty Harbour, Sister Madonna, St. Clare`s Convent, Pauline Walsh, St. John`s, Maureen (Marcel) Perreault, Kathleen (John Guy) Pagé, Montreal, Regina (William) MacKenzie, Antigonish, N.S., Rebecca, Toronto; brothers: Charles (Anna), Fermeuse, Reginald (Judy), Goulds; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends especially the Sisters and staff at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home. Remains resting at Fahey`s Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 30 and October 1 from 10 - 12, 2-5 and 7-10 each day. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 2 at 11 a.m. from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Fermeuse. Interment to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
