I'm looking for anyone that might have information to share about the Applin family from the Northern Pen. (Gooseberry Island, Flower's Cove, Shoal Cove). I am trying to figure out the early generations to determine how they link to my grandmother Emily nee Applin Gallant. Emily was the daughter of Thomas Henry Applin and Mary Pynn (parents unknown). They married in March 1900. Thomas died in 1905 in Anchor point. He might have been living nearby that area. He was 26 yrs old. Mary remarried John (Jack) Humber, son of William Humber and Mary Ann Genge. Thomas was the son of Joseph Applin and Jane Coombs. Joseph Applin had a brother named John who married Mary Ann Wells. They lived in Labrador before moving to NL. I have been researching this family for a while now and am hoping that someone has even the smallest tidbit to help me out.
