Alva Butler, aged 87 years. Predeceased by his wife Florence (nee Lockyer) 1986, his sister Olive Kearley 2000 and his brother Bert Butler 1957. Leaving to mourn nephew David Kearly (Mary), nieces Jennifer Dwyer (Ron) and Carolyn Hicks, all of Corner Brook, as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, Saturday 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service 11 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2003, from the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmiller Avenue. Predeceased by his parents, his brothers Doug and George, his sister Marjorie. Leaving to mourn his wife Violet (Sally); daughters Lorraine Steeves (Bud), Sharon Heale (Jim), Linda Chipman (Gerry) and Pauline Cook (Harold); special friend Bruno Treijs with whom he resided; seven grandchildren: Lisa, Joanne, Paul, Susan, Tony, Stephen and Michael; sisters Olive Dinn, Hattie Pocha and Biz Kavanagh (Ed); brothers David (Sheila) and Walt (Dorothy); sisters-in-law Bessie Crummell (Phil) and Jean Combdon; brother-in-law Rick Jones (Alma); as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by daughter Yvonne, parents Wallace and Josephine, aunt Gert and daughter-in-law Paula. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Minnie of 46 years, daughters Annette (Brian) and Kimberly (Ron). Sons Wayne (Wanda), Wally, Norman, Dean (Theresa) and Christopher (Melanie). Sisters Madonna Leger (Jack), Annette Merritt (Howard) and Shirley Parsons (Vi).
