    3. Hi List Here are some specific ships and captains who sailed to or from Newfoundland in 1809. The source is a bound volume of the surviving Lloyd's List newspapers from 1809-'10. The entries below are taken from various Lloyd's List newspapers dated January 1809; a few of the entries describe news from late 1808. Ship name/ capt. These captains may not have anything to do with Newfoundland other than taking ships in and out; some of these captains may be Newfoundland residents, or their relatives. If anyone can add any details to these ships or people, let me know. Otherwise, this is just for anyone who may find it useful.
