Brazil of Spaniard`s Bay, age 71 years. Predeceased by his parents, Matthew (1958) (Corporal) M.M., D.C.M., Croiz de Guerre; his mother, Agnes (1991) (nee Delaney); his sister, Cecilia (1993); father-in-law Dominic Lynch (1998), former C.N.R. station agent, Goobies. Leaving to mourn their sad loss, his wife Marie; children: Stephen (Trina), Calgary, AB, Dominic (Loralee), Calgary, AB, Aiden, Spaniard`s Bay and Germaine, Spaniard`s Bay; also left to mourn two brothers: Matt (Marina), Spaniard`s Bay, Mike (Josephine), St. John`s; five sisters: Margaret, Spaniard`s Bay, Mary Pennell, Mississauga, ON, Clare Gregory, Spaniard`s Bay, Joan (Bill) Ryan, Spaniard`s Bay and Eileen (John) Woodford, Harbour Main; as well as mother-in-law, Mary Lynch, Spaniards Bay; brothers-in-law: Dominic (Edith), St. John`s, Gerard (Doreen), Sunnyside, John (Diane), St. John`s, Pat, St. John`s, Bernard (Janice), St! . John`s; one sister-in-law, Anne (Ian) Rouse, England; and a large circle of nieces and nephews, and a very precious Chelsea; many life-long co-workers of the C.N.R. and many co-volunteers of several community organizations. Gerald was a faithful member of St. Anne`s Parish, Spaniard`s Bay, former Grand Knight of Dalton Council 1448, Harbour Grace and loving husband and father. Resting at Young`s Funeral Home, Spaniard`s Bay, Thursday, October 2, 2003, 12 noon - 10:00 p.m. and Friday, October 3, 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., St. Anne`s Church, Spaniard`s Bay, celebrant: Reverend Father Frank Aylward, P.P. October 02, 2003 CURNEW, Phyllis I. - Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, October 01, 2003 at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, Phyllis I. Curnew, aged 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Robert and brother Donald Fowlow. Leaving to mourn daughter Joyce Curnew-Young (James), Halifax; son Kenneth (Mary), Topsail; grandchildren: Shannon, Nicole, Kathryn, Joshua and Robert; brother Rev. Guy Fowlow, Stephenville; sister Edith Ebsary, Eastern Passage, NS; other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 10-12 noon. October 02, 2003 HOOKEY, Catherine Angela (nee Green) - Age 72 years. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at St. Clare`s Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, October 01, 2003. Predeceased by three sons: Paul, Roger, David; parents William and Edna Green and brother James. Leaving to mourn her loss is her husband of 54 years, Edward; son Brian (Judy); daughters: Donna Snow (Randy), Yvonne Wall (Brian) and Pamela (George); sister Gertrude and family; brother and sister-in-law: James and Edna Hookey, Brighton, Ontario; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; as well as a large number of relatives and friends; and special friend Florence Cheeks. October 02, 2003 ROSSITER, John Michael - Died tragically, in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Monday, September 29, 2003. John Michael Rossiter, aged 31 years. Predeceased by his grandparents, John and Mary Rossiter, Ted and Nance Kennedy and Margaret Kennedy. Leaving to mourn parents, Bill and Brenda; brother Billy (Sharon Finlay) and sister Karen; Uncle Tom and Daphne Rossiter, Uncle Lar and Aunt Alice Rossiter, Uncle John and Aunt Marg Kennedy, Aunt Rose Ann Evans and their families; numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins (especially Mary Keating, his mom away from home), as well as a large and wonderful circle of friends, fellow paramedics and all emergency staff. A devoted member of George Street United Church Choir for 64 years. Predeceased by her precious daughter Sandra in 1964; parents, David and Jessie Taylor and brothers: Raymond and Hedley Taylor. Beloved wife of Graham; dear mother of Dr. Keith (Alice) and devoted grandmother of Andrew, Jessica, Gregory, Cherry, Joanna and Matthew; also, leaving to mourn her sisters: Eva Wells, Marian Downton, Ruby Haley and Phyllis Pollock; her brothers: Fred Taylor (Florence), Augustus Taylor (Sandra), Harold Taylor (Marilyn) and David Taylor (Eleanor); also leaving to mourn sisters-in-law: Gertrude Taylor, Emma (Peggy) Snelgrove and Ruby Learning (Robert); also mourned by a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
